Grind Plugin Offers Unparalleled Levels of 'Nasty'
According to Audio Damage, their new plugin ‘Grind’, is notable for two reasons. Number one (and probably the most important) is that it is an “Audio Mangling Powerhouse” that “puts the Damage in Audio Damage”. A “Swiss army Knife of Sound Design”, if you will. Number two is the fact that Grind is the first plugin that the US based company have released with AAX compatibility from jump. The way this plugin works is actually very interesting. actually very interesting. When it receives a signal, Grind passes it through a wavetable module and, depending upon the amplitude of that signal, will assign a suitably energetic, linearly-interpolated wavetable that can be hewn and sculpted from the interface. Next the signal gets crammed through an algorithmic distortion/saturation section which features eleven different algorithms for you to pick from. Finally it reaches the multimode filter module for tweaking and LFO’ing. Pretty sweet. Audio Damage warn very clearly that this is not a shrinking violet. You have been warned.
The Grind is pretty good value at 49 bones or ‘clams’
Windows 8 or greater,
32/64-bit VST and VST3, and 64-bit AAX
OSX (10.8 or greater).
