"Told You So" heads up brand new album

Paramore have just released the second single from their fifth and soon to be received album “After Laughter” today, along with a colorful music video.  Since the release of their “Hard Times” single last month, fans have been anxiously awaiting this latest album and the band has delivered perfectly. Paramore has settled into a refreshing dancey, electro-pop sound, that harks back to their self titled album from 2013.  The album was recorded in Nashville shortly after a dark period when the band did not think they were going to ever record another LP and , ultimately have been quoted as saying they felt as though the end of Paramore had come.  Partly this feeling came from a lost passion in the art and the fact that that the band had been together since 2004. However Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York experienced a cathartic moment when reuniting with ex-drummer Zac Farro. Williams recently stated, “Taylor and I actually got to experience that moment together because we were at a coffee shop talking about whether we were going to stay in this band or not when we saw Josh. It was crazy. I think you rarely get to experience real, full-circle redemption in your lifetime other than on your own, in your own kind of solitude, but I think we were able to share that moment with Taylor.”

The rumors of Farro’s return began in June of 2016 when an image of Paramore recording the new album with what appeared to be Zac on drums was posted on social media.  It was not until early 2017 that Farro officially became part of the band again.  Then, on Feb 2nd of this year, Hayley Williams went on the Record with Billboard magazine to state that he was back. The band has gone through so many ups and downs throughout the years, lineup changes and that near demise that we are sure to hear a genuine, emotional out-pouring on this new album.  In an interview Williams stated, “After Laughter is about the look on people’s faces when they’re done laughing. If you watch somebody long enough, there’s always this look that comes across their face when they’re done smiling and I always find it really fascinating to wonder what it is that brought them back to reality. So, that’s what After Laughter is.”  Paramore will be headlining Riot Fest in Chicago in September and “After Laughter” will be available in stores May 12th 2017.
